The Strategic Planning Committee is pleased to announce that we have completed our first committee report (available as a PDF), which summarizes and analyzes the results of our survey of the Tag Wrangling Committee and team.
This is a short update from the Category Change workgroup. You can read about what our work entails and how we were formed in our introductory post. As we want to keep users in the loop, we wanted to provide some information on what we’ve been doing since then, and what we’re planning to do in the near future.
The Strategic Planning Committee is very excited to announce that the Tag Wrangling report is complete and ready to be released to the wider public. Before that happens, we just want to talk a little bit about what it means to use "aggregate data." Basically, to aggregate data means to combine the data from different measurements, and then summarize that data.
Happy New Year everyone! The OTW is looking forward to new developments this term and one thing we want to celebrate are some milestones that have been passed at the Archive of Our Own in the last few weeks.
Hello from Strategic Planning! We've been very busy since our last update. We have finished running the staff survey for Open Doors, opened surveys for Systems staff and retired Volunteers & Recruiting staff, and are in the middle of interviewing the chair of Systems. We are also about to deploy surveys for Wiki committee staff, Fanlore gardeners, and Fanlore editors very soon.
As some readers may have read about in the OTW's last newsletter, the Survey Workgroup has been going through some changes. As the new leads we, Aja and Eylul, wanted to say hello and provide a brief update. Over the past month we have been working on our analysis processes to see what can be improved. We are starting our posts again although they may come out at a slower pace until we finish our internal reorganization.
Welcome to the latest news update from our Strategic Planning group. We’re very excited to have been confirmed as an official committee -- we were previously a workgroup, which is used more often for temporary or short-term work. This switch is an acknowledgement that proper strategic planning for the org is a huge project, and also of the fact that it’s not a one-time process. After this round is complete, we’ll have to help committees put the plans into action, then re-evaluate and go through the process again (every 3 - 5 years), refining each time.
The OTW has published its 2011 Annual Report from the Board (in PDF here or in HTML here). The report provides a summary of our activities during the past financial and calendar year, our financial statements for that year, and our goals for the next year. This is the fifth annual report of the OTW (see previous years here).
