    Held every Easter weekend since 1955, Eastercon is also known as the British National Science Fiction Convention. Guests of honor are Jim Butcher (Dresden Files author), author and filker Seanan McGuire, steampunk artist Herr Döktor (Ian Crichton), and longtime fandom contributor Caroline Mullan. The event also includes the Dalekdrome, in which competitors first making over a remote-controlled Dalek and then running it through an obstacle course.

  • Hobbit Big Bang 2.0 Artist Claims

    It's the second run of the Hobbit Big Bang, with story rough drafts due April 1 and artist claims opening April 4. Crossovers and AUs are allowed, but stories should focus on The Hobbit (books, films, or RPF). Posting runs from May 10-24.

    NordicFuzzCon bills itself as "Scandanavia's largest furry convention," and this year's theme is the Enchanted Forest. Events include dances with live DJs, tabletop gaming, and panels discussing art and costuming. Guests of honor are artist EosFoxx and video producer EZwolf (Bitter Lake).

  • Armageddon Expo

    The Dunedin, NZ, event is the first in the celebration of 20 years of the Armageddon Expo. Guests include DJ Qualls (Z Nation and Supernatural), Simon Fisher-Becker (Doctor Who), and Alaina Huffman (Supernatural, Smallville, and Stargate Universe). The Expo has additional dates and different lineups in Christchurch and Hamilton in March.

    "Sasquan" is the 2015 World Science Fiction Convention, also known as Worldcon, the annual gathering of science fiction and fantasy fans. Worldcons are the site of the Hugo Awards, the premier awards in the science fiction field, recognizing the greatest books and stories, related works, film, television, podcasts, and fan works.

  • Queers and Comics Conference

    The conference brings LGBTQ cartoonists, comics writers, and artists together with scholars and fans in order to document the history and significance of queer comics. It spotlights the veterans of LGBTQ cartooning in North America and internationally, with forums for working artists to share their knowledge and to discuss how to navigate the comics industry.

    This event was founded in 1974 as the “AA Relax-I-Con” by the University of Michigan Science Fiction Club. It has been held every year since. Guests of honor include author Karen Lord, researcher Dr. Cynthia Chestek, and "gaming gurus" Monte Cook and Shanna Germain.

Guests of honor include Jacqueline Carey, New York Times-bestselling author whose works include the Kushiel’s Legacy series and the Agent of Hel contemporary fantasy series, and Christopher J Garcia, a winner of a 2011 Hugo for Best Fanzine.
