Festivids is a yearly small-fandom giftvid exchange. It's modeled on Yuletide; every vidder signs up with fandoms they request, and fandoms they can offer. The fandoms are all "small" fandoms, which are defined to mean fandoms where there are: (a) 100 or fewer online vids for the fandom, or (b) 10 or fewer new vids posted online in the past four years, or (c) vids by 5 or fewer vidders available online.

Each vidder receives a secret assignment and makes a giftvid for their recipient. The vids are posted anonymously in January, and after two weeks, the identities of the vidders are revealed.

Signups to participate run from October 10 through October 20.

As interest in vids has grown, cons have been accommodating longer vidshows and adding vid-watching and vid-making panels to their schedules, but VividCon is focused solely on vids. They welcome all vid genres: gen, adult, het, slash, anime, experimental.
