AO3: Fanart on the horizon!

Now that the Archive of Our Own is humming along on new, more powerful servers (thank you, fandom!), members of the Archive team have begun fleshing out a list of concrete and not-so-concrete tasks needed to make fanart hosting a reality!

Voting now open! Name the AO3 servers!

It's time to name the AO3 servers! We had a whole host of wonderful nominations, and our nominations committee have spent many hours collating them and whittling them down to a shortlist. We're excited by the fannish diversity represented in this range of names.

Voting will be open until 22 March 2011, and we'll announce the winners shortly thereafter.

A Week in the Life of a Tag Wrangler

The wranglers put in a varying amount of work, each wrangler deciding for themselves how much time they can dedicate to wrangling. AO3作品库

我们正在编写“OTW作品库”开源程序包，让同人爱好者能够自己架设功能完备的作品库。这一作品库能为上万同人小说和其他同人作品提供平台，而且还有社交功能，便于同人爱好者通过作品相互交流。

OTW组织正是以此程序搭建了AO3（Archive of our Own）作品库。AO3作品库是一个非商业性、非营利性的同人作品托管网站。在这里，同人作品能得到OTW组织提供的版权保护，并且能从OTW宣传同人作品的社会价值与合法性的工作中收益。

Reminder: extended Archive downtime today

The Archive of our Own will be down for maintenance today, Thursday 10 February, from c. 18.00 UTC, for approximately 6 hours (What time is this where I am?).

Today is the day of the new servers! Our colocation host has run some new power lines for our hungry beasts, and moved our trusty old servers into the rack with the shiny new ones. Today, we'll be switching over to actually using the new servers!

Namensfindungsfestival für die neuen Server!

Dank der ungeheuren Großzügigkeit des Fandoms konnten wir die Server für das Eigene Archiv aufrüsten. Zu unseren ursprünglichen beiden Server gesellen sich vier weitere, die mehr Speicherplatz, mehr Kraft und mehr Schnelligkeit bringen, alles bezahlt durch die Spenden von Fans an die OTW.
