How can I get an account on the Archive?

During closed beta, we need to keep user numbers very low. This is because our server capacity is limited and we're coding core features, so things may break at regular intervals! We periodically add a limited number of new users from the pool of people who have left feedback about the design and usability of the Archive: if you're interested in becoming part of our small beta-testing group leave your thoughts about the Archive via the Archive feedback form. (Exception: folks who currently have their fanworks up on GeoCities can contact the Open Doors committee and get an Archive account through the GeoCities Rescue Project.)

We hope to move to open beta in late 2009. At this time we'll be able to welcome lots more users to the Archive; we'll still need to manage the load on our servers, so we'll be using an invitations system. You'll be able to add your name to a queue, and we'll periodically send out invitations to people on that list depending on how many new users the site can take. We'll let people know more information on how this will work when it becomes available.
